UK Holiday Entitlement Calculator (Prototype)

Single‑file app (offline). Implements the 9‑question flow + optional segments for working-pattern changes.

Inputs (the 9 questions)

Use your organisation’s holiday year (e.g., 2026‑01‑01 to 2026‑12‑31). End date should be the last day of the leave year.
Example: 37.5 for 9–5 Mon–Fri (7.5h/day).
Usually 5. Used to convert days ↔ hours.
Enter your contractual leave days excluding bank holidays if you handle bank holidays separately.
Often 8 in England & Wales; adjust to your policy/location.
Patterns A/B use pro‑rated annual entitlement. Pattern C uses accrual per pay period (enter hours worked below).
If the employee’s days vary (pattern B), still enter their usual weekly hours; “days/week” is used mainly for bank holiday pro‑rating and for a days-based display.
Leave blank if still employed.

Notes: This is a pragmatic prototype, not legal advice. It’s designed to match typical UK HR practice (pro‑rating by FTE and partial‑year service). For complex cases (term‑time only, bespoke bank holiday rules, rolled‑up holiday pay), you’ll likely want policy-specific tweaks.
